University students from Nuevo Laredo will compete in an international
competition, where they will be able to compare their abilities to
students from other schools around the world.
"There are 8
students and an advisor, we practice every day from Tuesday to Saturday,
and we are preparing what is a competent robot to be able to climb to
the bases indicated by the challenge," Geovanni Martinez, advisor of the
Mechatronics career at the Technological University of Nuevo Laredo,
said.
Because the competition will be held in Tlaxcala in April, the young people of Nuevo Laredo are working three to four hours a day to be able to represent their school and Nuevo Laredo with dignity.
The robots being prepared for the competition must be able to lift various objects and place them in specific locations in the shortest amount of time possible, with the goal of making the processes more efficient.
"Many schools are going, at the state level we have schools from Altamira, Matamoros, Tampico, as well as other places like Mexico City, Saltillo, Monterrey, Tlaxcala, other schools from the United States and other countries," said the team's advisor, who will represent the city in April.
